VRATZA LIMESTONE
BLOCKS - SLABS - PLATES - CUT-TO-SIZE
Limestone is widely used in architecture and various landmarks across the world, including the Great Pyramid and the Giza Complex in Egypt, are made of limestone. Many buildings in Kingston, Ontario, Canada were constructed with limestone and it is nicknamed the 'Limestone City'. The Limestone House in DIFC, Dubai is another lucent landmark.
Slabs made of Vratsa limestone are used for the cladding of the
Cathedral Temple “St. Alexander Nevsky” in Sofia, our National
Palace of Culture (Sofia), The Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”,
the Court of Justice in Sofia, Our first Mall, and many other
landmark buildings in Bulgaria.

OUR VRATZA LIMESTONE

AT YOTOV STONE
we are uncompromising on quality and our Vratza Limestone is a symbol of quality.
Limestone is a sedimentary rock composed of the mineral
calcite, a form of calcium carbonate.
It took Nature millions of years to create natural stones. Limestone has a long and diverse history of being a linchpin
to architectural expression. Its longevity and ability to withstand exposure to the most adverse
weather conditions, make it a dependable architectural resource.

R1
Uniquely strong and homogenous natural stone with
an almost snow-like surface. A creamy-beige pattern covers
the whole surface with the tiniest possible
inclusions of quartz dots.

R2
Strong and homogenous material with
several quartz spots (not too big) on
a clean creamy-beige base.

R3
The Limestone surface has a lot of small to middle size quartz spots onto its surface and a few larger quartz spots. It looks like Tiger Skin.
R4
The Limestone has large quartz spots on its surface. Nevertheless, a very strong material, suitable for projects where selections of cut-to-size
elements are necessary.

R5
Limestone with larger quartz spots, middle size quartz spots. Sporadically a yellow line appears on the slab.

OUR VRATZA LIMESTONE QUARRY LOCATION
"Within 120 km North of the capital Sofia, through the Iskar Canyon, one can witness the entire Phanerozoic History of the Earth. In the town of Mezdra, the iridium layer of the Cretaceous-Paleogene Boundary was formed by the collision of the Earth with the Chicxulub asteroid, the Meteor that killed the Dinosaurs."
